Discover the 4 Essentials for Successful Articles

by Nick Summers

Articles are immeasurably important in today's websites and internet based companies; they are a huge factor in the overall success and the general attraction of traffic into any site. Well chosen articles can now be a key element of making a site work and earn a profit. Any website operator and owner with good sense will include articles in his or her site that will work for them and earn them the many benefits relevant articles can give to their site.

Articles have been known to be the driving force in getting traffic to a website; they are also a factor in giving sites a high ranking in search result pages. The higher a site ranks the bigger slice of the traffic flow pie it gets; and the bigger the traffic flow, the greater the profits and potential for other income generating schemes.

But, you can't just stuff your site with articles and expect the money to start rolling in; for articles to give their maximum benefit, there are certain requirements which must be met to enable your articles to provide the best results for your site. A well written article will catch the eyes and interest of your customers and keep them coming back for more. They would also be able to recommend your site to others.

The important tips below will help you choose or write articles that will have the effect you desire. Below you will read about four things all articles must have to make them successful, and which are essential if you want them to help make your site attract more traffic and earn more profit.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases.

Keywords and keyword phrases will always be at the heart of a good article. As each website visitor goes to a site, they may be merely browsing but most are actually looking for something specific. If that is the case, they usually go to a search engine and type in the keywords they are looking for (e.g. Toyota Camry, Meningitis, Tax Lawyer, Discount Designer Clothes and Etcetera). It could be anything! Everyone wants something different.

The important thing is that you choose articles that have the keywords that are related to your site. For example, if you maintain an auto parts site, the best articles for you will be cars, their components and parts, and repairs. There are many tools in the internet that provide services to help a webmaster find out what keywords and keyword phrases are mostly entered into search engines. You can use this tool to determine what keywords to use, write about and find articles for.

Keyword Density

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used in an article compared with the total number of words in the article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low. A low number may be ignored by the search engines. However, with a very high density, the meaning of the article is lost and it will be difficult to read. Then 2 things will happen: you'll lose a person trying to read the article and thus a potential visitor and the search engines may just see the article as keyword spamming and your ranking will reduce not increase.

Once you have your site's keywords and keyword phrases, you must use them fully. An article must have good keyword density for a search engine to 'feel' its presence. Articles should have at least five to ten percent keyword density in their content for search engines to rank a site high in their search results. Getting a high rank or improving a rank is what the right articles will do best.

Good Article Content

This rule seems obvious, but as some articles have obviously only been written to include particular keywords its worth restating. If your articles are to be successful, they cannot just be riddled with keywords; they must be good reading material as well. Articles with good content are able to entertain people as well as provide valuable information that will meet their needs. Articles should be written well with correct spelling and good grammar. If you want people to trust you, increase your credibility and thus attract visitors to your site, your work needs to be of high quality - well written and well thought out.

People respond well to facts, figures and statistics. Try to incorporate as much relevant, interesting, up-to-date information as you can in your articles. A good, well written article will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic. As more people believe in you, they will be able to trust you and your products, then buy them and recommend them to others.

Linking Articles

If you are planning to submit articles to ezines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters and other sites, DON'T ever forget to include a link to your site. It should always be placed just at the end of each article you submit, and is usually in the form of a small 'resource box' that has a brief description of you and your site or at least your name and site name, all hyperlinked to your site.

So one last important thing to remember: your articles will only bring traffic to your site and make your efforts worthwhile if you submit them with a link to your site. If people like your articles, they will then be able to click straight away on that link.

Article Writing Tips to Avoid Duplicate Content

by Liane Bate

Lately I have been concerned about, and have been hearing more and more about duplicate content on the internet. Particularly if you run your own online business like I do, you definitely want to have good quality content on your site to attract not only visitors and buyers, but to get the attention of the search engines that look for unique content. Article writing is one of the best and most cost-effective ways to put content on your site, and to market your online business these days. The problem is that the same, or very similar content is showing up more and more on different web pages, much to the search engines' chagrin - and they will penalize your site for it! Here are some ways to write and use articles in such a way that you can skirt the duplicate content penalty:

As far as article writing goes, there are different ways to get content onto your site. You can write your own articles, you can hire a ghostwriting service to write articles for you that you can put your own name to, or you can use other people's articles on your website and blog to add fresh content to your site. I'm going to discuss each of these in greater detail so that you can compare each, and learn some new tips on how to avoid duplicate content using these methods.

If you choose to write your own articles, you are doing the best thing for your business and for the search engines because you are making your site stand out from the rest by making it your own. You may find it difficult to come up with your own content, but I find that the more you learn about your business, or website topic, the more you will have to write about. It's easy in internet marketing to come up with a topic, as the learning truly never ends in this field! Your task becomes even easier when you consider writing one original article, submitting it, and then changing or re-writing it. There is nothing wrong with modifying your own articles and re-submitting them!

It's true that other people may use your original article on their websites and make you wonder about duplicate content. You may also wonder about submitting your same, original article to thousands of publishers through article distribution services. At first, this may seem the ultimate compliment to you that your article is being used, and so it should be! You also want your articles to be displayed in multiple places to grow you back links. But I have heard of instances where your article shows up in thousands of different places, the search engines see it as duplicate content, and then suddenly you no longer have a listing for your site in relation to your own article! The fact is, duplicate content cannot really be avoided on the net, and you should only get banned if you have a spam site with no valuable content. These are things I wouldn't really worry about.

Ghostwriting services can make your life easier by writing good articles for you for a reasonable price. This is a good option if you want to send out many articles at once with your name and links attached. It saves you time, energy, and work, and the articles put out are usually good quality articles. The problem is that many other people might have very similar content to yours. A way to avoid duplicate content here is if you just change a few things about the articles you get. For example, you may want to change the article title, or add headers to separate paragraphs. You can change some of the wording around, mix up the paragraphs a little, or even bold or italicize some text to make it more unique.

If you use other people's articles on your site, it may be best to ask for the author's permission to change the article slightly as well, or to simply quote bits and pieces of the article, surrounded by your own commentary. I personally like to use other people's articles on my blog to show that I am not the only authority on the subject areas in my niche. On days when I have writer's block, this method comes in handy as well. Lately, I have been trying to avoid duplicate content on my blog by adding an introductory paragraph before posting the article by another author in its original form. I haven't yet added concluding remarks following the author resource box, but this is also an excellent way to avoid duplicate content and I plan to do this in the near future.

Hopefully these article-writing tips will help you avoid the nasty duplicate content penalty. No one wants their site to be banned from the search engines, so it's a good idea to write your own articles, make slight changes to other articles if you have permission to do so, and add an introduction and conclusion to your blog if adding other's articles to your blog.

Ready Set Go - The 30 Minute Article

by Kevin Sinclair

You need an article for your newsletter, and you need it now. As a matter of fact, you can spare only forty minutes to get the article written, edited and slotted into place.

Breaking it down, that means you pretty much have to write the first draft in around 30 minutes. Not a lot of time - especially if you don't consider yourself to be much of a writer. The good news is that it can be done - and done well. Here's how to generate a 400-500-word article in a short time.

1. Turbo-Outlining.

Give yourself 5-10 minutes for this part of the process. If you already have a topic in mind, you're in front. If not, you have exactly 90 seconds to decide. Presumably you understand where your readers are coming from (if not, you're in big trouble.) Use those 90 seconds to jot down words or phrases that summarize anything that is likely to be causing them a problem. Naturally this needs to be a problem that YOU can help solve in your article.

From this list, choose the topic that appeals to you most. Now - in three and a half minutes - it's time to outline the article. Use these headers to guide you:

a. State the problem - and promise a solution. (Just jot down quick notes at this stage.)

b. Outline the process for solving the problem. Divide this into 3-5 logical steps. Label each step (this will become a sub-heading in your article).

c. Jot down points you want to make in your conclusion. This can be advice on how to ensure that the problem doesn't recur, or offer links to resources that can help. End on a positive note that leaves the reader feeling glad that he read your advice.

2. Speed-Writing Your First Draft.

Allow 20-25 minutes to write the first draft. Spend an extra few minutes on the first paragraph. This is where your reader will decide whether or not to continue reading. Your job is to show that you understand exactly what the problem is and to sound confident that you can help them solve it. Don't use long-winded sentences or ramble on about how awful it is - just get to the point. By the end of the first half-dozen sentences, your reader needs to feel keen to read on and find out the solution.

Each of your 3-5 sub-headings should clearly indicate what the following paragraphs are about. Remember that many readers skim-read an article to see if it's worth reading. Look at the words you've chosen - can you rephrase these headings to make the whole process sound simpler or faster?

Under each sub-heading, write two or three paragraphs on the part of the problem-solving strategy you are outlining. Since you are writing this quickly, it is likely that you will automatically adopt a forthright, casual tone. If you find yourself writing in overly formal language, stop and reconsider. The best 'how to' articles use simple language and everyday terminology. Make it all as easy as possible for your reader to follow.

The ending is just as important as the opening paragraph. It's vital not to let the article fizzle out in a weak conclusion. You need to leave your reader feeling inspired, energized and confident that they can follow your advice and fix the problem. You can:

- tell them how much time/energy/money they will save by following your advice
- share a 'secret' of some kind that will help them move on to the next step (be more successful, save even more time, etc)
- point them at further help or resources. (These can be provided by you and your web site, or by others who have a level of expertise.)

3. Tweak and Polish.

After thirty minutes you should have an excellent basis for your article. If you can afford to take fifteen minutes out at this stage for a cup of coffee or a quick walk, do so. It's always better to take a break before editing your work. If not, just start reading it from the beginning. Check for these things:

a. Spelling and grammar. Your computer should do most of the work here, but a computer can miss typos or offer strange advice when it comes to grammar. You need to read it through yourself for flow and overall impact.

b. Wordy sentences or phrases. Weed them out!

c. Badly-phrased advice. If a sentence doesn't flow, write it again. Think of how you'd explain to someone else in a casual conversation. Does your writing reflect this?

d. Missing steps. When you're familiar with a process, or trouble-shooting, it's all too easy to leave out a step or a small but vital piece of information. Run over the whole process in your mind to make sure you haven't left anything out.

Now, you should have a finished article that will prove both interesting and helpful to many of your readers. At worst, it will be competent. At best, it will surprise you with what you can achieve in a short time!

Free Articles Are The Quickest Way To Your Customers Wallet

by Brian Lam

Do you know of one free way to market your website at the same time get thousands of backlinks and traffic back to your website? I have done it and it absolutely works and now you can learn all about it here.

One way of promoting your website and product can be achieved for free. As an additional bonus, this "free" method can boost your sites and sales, doubling and even tripling your income.

Articles. One of the easiest ways to promote your website in order to generate traffic and increase your earnings.

How does this work?

Write articles relating to your website and submit them to "free content" submission sites. Easy to do, takes little time and can increase your website traffic, sales and of course, your income.

How can article writing boost traffic and income?

The article on the free content site contains a link to your own website. Readers, after reading your articles, may choose to click on the link and pay you an unexpected visit. Having them on the free content sites is also making these articles available to other webmasters who may wish to publish that article on their site.

If they do, your article will include a link back to your site. And anyone who reads the article on that site can still click on the link to visit your site.

As the list of your published articles grow larger, and more and more of them are appearing on different websites, the total number of links to your site increases also. Major search engines are placing a lot of significance on incoming links to websites so they can determine the importance of a certain site.

The more incoming links the website has, the more importance search engines attaches to it. This will then increase your website's placement in the search results.

If you site is into promoting a product or service, the links that your articles have achieved will mean more potential customers for you. Even if visitors only browse through, you never know if they might be in need of what you are offering in the future.

There are also those who already have specific things they need on their mind but cannot decide yet between the many choices online. Chances are, they may stumble upon one of your articles, gets interested by the contents you wrote, go to your site and became enticed by your promotions. See how easy that is?

Search engines do not just index the websites, they also index published articles. They also index any article that is written about your own website's topic. So once someone searches for that same topic, the list of results will have your site or may even show the articles that you have written.

And to think, no effort on your part was used to bring them to your site. Just your published articles and the search engines.

It is no wonder why many webmasters are suddenly reviving their old writing styles and taking time to write more articles about their site than doing other means of promotion.

Getting their site known is easier if they have articles increasing their links and traffic and making it accessible for visitors searching the internet. Since many people are now taking their buying needs online, having your site on the search engines through your articles is one way of letting them know about you and your business.

The good thing with articles is that you can write about things that people would want to know about. This can be achieved in the lightest mood but professional manner, with a little not-so-obvious sales pitch added.

If you think about it, only a few minutes of your time is spent on writing one article and submitting to free content site.

In the shortest span of time also, those are distributed to more sites than you can think of. Even before you know what is happening, you are getting more visitors than you previously had.

If you think you are wasting your time writing these articles, fast forward to the time when you will see them printed and wide-spread on the internet. Not to mention the sudden attention and interest that people are giving your website and your products or services.

Try writing some articles and you will be assured of the sudden surge in site traffic, link popularity and interest. Before you know it, you will be doubling and even tripling your earnings.

Nothing like getting benefits for something you got for free.

Various Ways to Make Money with Articles

by Nancy Stetson

To make money by writing articles there are several different areas that need to be addressed. The author has to ask himself several questions before starting so he doesn't write an article and then have to determine where it should go and how best can he relate it to his business.

The basics in writing the article are much the same, no matter where you use it. It should be written to make the best use of keywords without being obvious. Information is what the reader wants so don't just write one big commercial. Readers have gone to your article because they want to learn something. If they do, they are more likely to click on your site to see what else you have to offer. Gradually you can steer them towards your promotions or products.

The writer needs to to be sure there are no grammatical errors. Break it into manageable paragraphs and keep the line length about 60-65 characters so the reader doesn't have to use his mouse to see your writing.

Another area is who writes the article. Some people can publish them very easily but others either don't have the time or don't feel comfortable enough to do their own. Research is important here, including trying out someone who offers to write them for you. Try him out and if he performs to your satisfaction you can continue with him. Eventually a hesitant author may decide to try it himself as he gets more experienced with his marketing skills. A good place to get recommendations is on a forum.

Where are articles placed? One of the most obvious is article directories because they will submit them to hundreds of sites. The author's link is then sent out with the articles and hopefully many readers will click on it to find out more about this author, especially if the subject is in his area of marketing.

Your own website is a great venue for your articles. A good example would be to put the article on affiliate marketing on a webpage. Then links on that page can offer the reader a route to one or more of your affiliate sites. Or write one on the benefits of using autoresponders and have a link to one or two.

Make sure that your articles, not only use keywords that relate to whatever subject about which you are writing but remember that content is king. Commercials are fine but save them for your blog or a broadcast to your subscriber list. Well written articles can help you build an opt-in list. Your readers will be anxious to read more of your material and we all know that subscriber lists lead to income opportunities. Your site's reputation will increase as well. Soon some of your subscibers may recommend your site to others.

Be sure to stick to subjects that either pertain to your type of business or if you are promoting affiliate products and sites, aim your subject to whatever you are promoting. Not an ad, maybe more information on the general subject of that product. For example, if the product is a vitamin, write an article on the need to supplement your nutrition.

A good way to advertise articles is to set up each article on a webpage and then make a master list on a separate page with a link to the article. Using an autoresponder for the same method is good too. Then take out an ad, either paid or unpaid, and advertise the master list.

Articles obviously can be used in various places and with a little imagination your business will greatly profit from them.

How To Write Articles That Get Instant Results

by Jeff Smith

What can a popular article do for your business?

An article that gets attention can...

1. Drive targeted traffic to your site 24-hours a day 2. Double, even triple your sales 3. Gain hundreds of valuable, incoming links to your website increasing your search engine position 4. Automatically fills your inbox with partnership and joint venture opportunities 5. Increases your personal branding and credibility - you can dominate your market 6. Springboard for more no-cost publicity such as interviews, magazine articles, profiles, reviews, radio show coverage and more.

What's even more exciting is that you can accomplish so much of this with just one or two very hot articles.

Now, true it may take you a few tries to really hit with one of your articles, but there are some techniques that you can apply to increase attention to your articles.

ARTICLE WRITING SECRETS THAT WILL GET THEIR ATTENTION

1. Choose Your Topic Wisely. Sounds simple, but here's what you need to do. First, your topic must be relevant to what you are marketing. The problem you address in your article must be the same or at least closely related to the problem you are solving or desire you are fulfilling with your website. Second, your topic must be intriguing.

2. Stand Out From The Crowd. What is the unique perspective, experience, opinion, solution or value that you will bring to your topic? Publisher's seek out information that stands out. For instance, can you provide hard statistics based on testing? How about a detailed case study? Do you bring a fresh perspective that will make someone say "that's awesome!"? Are you targeting an area that is extremely popular, where the buzz factor is already peaking?

3. Writing Style. You may have thought professional writers have the edge here, in reality, the opposite is true. Often, an informal, conversational, simple style wins out over a general, fluffy or overly verbose style. Although they are professionals, ezine and magazine publishers are real people that "feel" the tone of an article and are always on the lookout for articles that will touch their readers as well as inform them.

4. Be Specific, Be Focused. The best article writing comes when you are addressing one main issue, problem or desire without losing focus and jumping around. If you are writing about dog training, then you are better to focus on one critical problem within dog training, don't try and cover the entire topic in a 800-word article.

5. Understand How To Write An Effective Resource Box. I have to admit, this one gets me every time. I am both a writer and ezine publisher, so often I have come across well written articles that I choose to publish that I know will not do a good job of delivering my reader to their website. After all, the entire intent of your article should be to capture publisher and reader attention, but ultimately, enticing them back to your website. How much time does the average writer spend on refining the 4-5 line resource box that follow their articles? In most cases, a few minutes, yet this is the most important part of your article. Test the first line, make it risk-free for your reader to visit your site, get their attention by creating a lop-sided value proposition by giving away valuable material.

6. Will They See It? Building a network of eager publishers for your articles will take some time. By following the steps above you will speed up progress significantly. If you are just starting out, then use a few of the more reputable article submission directories - they will mass blast your article out to a refined list of directories and publishers based on keywords and categories. Don't top there. You should constantly be seeking out high quality, high traffic, strategic sites in your market and contacting the publisher's directly with articles or proposals for articles. For your top-tier prospects, be open to customizing articles, committing to regular publishing schedules, incorporating an affiliate link in place of your link so that your publisher gets to share in the profit from any resulting product or service sales.

Article writing is most effective when you tap into an existing demand for information, position your approach as unique and valuable, keep it simple and even entertaining then making sure you get your article in front of the right eyeballs.

One final word of advice, be consistent and persistent. You may have to write 5 articles to have some initial success, you may have to write 20. Fact is you will get better with each article you write and your chances of hitting it big increase each time.

By re-using each article on blogs and in separate article landing pages you will also continue to see advantages of generating content such as search engine optimization and added trust from your market.

How to Use Free Articles to Create Massive Traffic From Hundreds of Directories Sites?

by Brian Lam

You are spending hours writing and submitting your free articles to those article directories hoping that it will gain you more exposure. But there is just not enough time for you to manually handle so many submissions to make even a slight significant difference to your traffic counters.

So what should you do? You should use software to help you with the submission.

An article submission software can become a part of your life if you are a writer as it drastically reduce the time needed to submission to the directories to gain those back links to your website. This is especially so if you have hundreds of directory sites to submit.

With that many directories to submit to, hours or even worse, days are wasted just repeating a boring submission routine. However, what if you can turn those wasted hours into productive time that can boost your income and still get your article submitted in less than half the time? Wouldn't that be great?

Back links to your sites are difficult and time consuming to get. Plus most often it requires you to contact other webmasters and put up a joint venture offer to them.

When I started out I tried to get one-way links to my website when I submit my own free articles to those directories. But it was too overwhelming for me when that task turned from a few minutes work to hours of work! This was before I had my own article submission software which reduce that time to minutes of work and I still get hundreds of one-way back links to my website permanently.

An article submission software will automatically do the submission to hundreds or even thousands of directories and still include your resource box which contains your all important one-way back link to your main website. All this is done in a matter of minutes once it has been set up properly in a few minutes.

With so much exposure at a short time, you will be able to generate significant amount of traffic to your website.

This will get you 5 great results instantaneously.

1. Since Google sees back links as an indication of an "important" site, the your Google site ranking will increase.

2. The more people who read your article and clicked back to your main website, the more traffic the site received. Alexa ranks sites based upon traffic, so you benefited that way as well.

3. You will be able to establish yourself as an expert in that particular subject matter in the shortest period possible.

4. You will have more chances of increasing your opt-in list of subscribers with more traffic and thus increasing your first-time and repeat sales.

5. Finally, you can build another income source directly from putting in Google AdSense on your website and as your traffic builds from your articles back links, you will earn revenue whenever visitors come and clicked on them.

However, there is some problems with the softwares in the market.

A. The free ones were a joke. They were little more than thinly-disguised SPAM machines that would eventually get you banned from the best article sites.

B. The moderately priced ones seemed okay, but they lacked the professional features that I was looking for.

C. The top-notch ones had everything that I was looking for but they were way too expensive for my blood. Some of them even wanted to charge me $35 or more just to submit one article!

I believe that most of us will set criteria for searching the perfect article submission software for our needs. Below are the criteria which I have personally found to be useful as a guide to follow when searching for one.

1. Ability to auto-fill to submit to those directories as well as manually fill up if you wanted.

2. Ability to edit and/or remove any directory submissions sites that is in the software's database.

3. Ability to store all the required information to properly submit my articles to the right category as if the article is submitted manually.

So by using these guidelines, I have finally found what I wanted that fits exactly what is in my criteria.

Therefore, article submission is a great way to get back links to your sites but it can take up too much time if not done properly. And by using software, you not only will save time, effort and money but you can use that extra time to make more profits. But the key point is selecting the suitable software for your needs.

How To Write Great Articles Fast And Easy

by Rick Jorgenson

What most people don't realize is that the work is already done for them, they don't need to come up with unique content from the top of their heads, they just need to look for what is already out there and improve on it.

Every possible topic has been covered and covered well by someone, but most of the time these people don't even want to profit from their work, they do it for the fun of it, which is great for you.

While you can't steal these people's hard work, (we wouldn't want to anyway, we want to profit from our work) you can use their ideas and learn from their content to write your own. Anyone can become an expert enough in a subject to write a 750 word article on it in minutes if you have the write content in front of you.

I'm skipping ahead of myself here, but I'm going to tell you where to find this content now, then tell you how to come up with article ideas afterwards.

When I come up with an article idea I go directly to the source of the Internet's content. Online bulletin boards, FAQ pages and Article directories!

Every time I need to learn about something to write about it or just for the heck of it, I go to these places:

http://www.faq.org

http://www.goarticles.com

http://www.groups.google.com

Everything I could ever want to know about nearly every subject known to man I can find for free there, if you're willing to dig for it.

All I then do is dissect all the information out of the articles, re write them into my words and add a snazzy article title.

Say you wanted to write an article or articles on fly fishing to promote a fly fishing e-book thru clickbank.com, here's what I would do.

I would go to Groups.google.com and type in fly fishing and see what questions people were asking.

I would also go to Goarticles.com and type in fly fishing and see what articles are already written and how many people have viewed them so you can tell which article topics are the most popular.

Then when I wanted to start writing my article I'd go to FAQ.org and look there for fly fishing Frequently Asked Questions and rewrite that content in my own words for my own articles.

DISCLAIMER

I don't mean steal other peoples content when I say rewrite. I mean use the FAQ's are a place to research a topic and then use that research as a bases for your articles.

Your articles don't have to be masterpieces that are 5000 words in length, in fact it will help your sales if you keep them short 500 to 750 words and you give your readers information they can instantly use and implement.

The most important part to your article is your article title; it will make or break your article.

When people read articles they want information that they can use straight away. Say for you instance you're writing about how to get your baby to sleep better at night, then you'd want a title something like this.

"6 Easy Steps For A Better Nights Sleep For You And Your Baby That You Can Implement Tonight!"

Ok, that's not perfect but you get the idea.

I've found if you're targeting the Internet Marketing niche you'll find your articles will get a better response and you will make more sales if you give people a plan they can use to make money straight away from your article.

For instance, let's say your promoting the "Google Cash" e-book that shows people how to make money with Google Adwords, you could write articles on the following....

*How you made money following the formula in the ebook.

*Give them a well thought out business plan they can steal and use as their own.

Or even....

Tell them how you failed using the Google Cash method but another method worked for you.

People love a story, success story or even a failure.

7 Ways Article Writing Can Make Money For Your Online Business

by Denise Nuttall

There are many ways to attract visitors to your online business. Advertising your business can range from very costly to free. The key to making money online with any business is to get traffic to your website. Article writing is the absolute best and the cheapest way to generate that traffic, which converts to making money.

Here are 7 ways which article writing increases traffic.

1. You can reach more people!

When you write good articles, it would be a shame not to share them with other people. You can post your articles in your website or you can submit them to other sites such as e-zines and online publishers. By submitting your articles to these sites, you give exposure not only to your ideas but also to your website. Simply include a link back to your site or include your information in the resource box. With this, you get exposure and free advertising as well. Submit your articles to popular e-zines and take advantage of their popularity. Other sites who find your article relevant may also link back to you. Thus, you increase your link popularity, which is one of the most important strategies in the internet world. Remember that most people are looking for information online and by filling this need with your quality article; you may reap the benefit of more exposure and higher web traffic.

2. You can advertise for FREE!

Submitting your articles to other websites presents an opportunity to advertise your website without paying exorbitant fees. Although you should avoid marketing language in your articles and make it informative and useful to your readers, you can always include your site's link in the resource box. In addition, by making your article relevant and helpful to your readers, you are making a good impression for your website, which could ultimately lead to a visit and hopefully a purchase. Good quality content in an article is far better and more effective than a few lines of ad space. You have a very special opportunity to presell your product or service to your prospective customer.

3. You can gain high search engine ranking!

Create a new web page for your article in your website. Optimize your article to make it search-engine friendly. Use top-ranked keywords and Meta tags that can give your website a high search engine ranking. As soon as you upload your new webpage to your server, search engines will spider through it and you can gain an increase in search engine ranking. Remember that search engine optimized content is a very effective strategy to gain a high ranking in search results.

Instead of looking for other sites who would want to establish reciprocal links with your site, you can simply submit an article to other sites. Just do not forget to include a link to your site in your resource box. When these websites pick up and publishes your article, you automatically get a link partner. Try to get as many link partners as you can. Link popularity is one of the factors used by search engines in determining search engine rankings. Make your article especially useful and appealing, so that more websites will be encouraged to publish it.

5. It optimizes your site for improved search engine ranking!

By making your site keyword rich, you can greatly improve the search engine ranking of your site. Remember that keyword density is one of the most important factors that search engines use when determining the search engine ranking of site. However, you should always provide relevant, useful and pertinent information. Avoid the temptation of overusing keywords just to gain a high ranking as this may turn off most web surfers. Relevance and quality is still the most important things to consider when writing articles and it will be doubly useful to your site if you make these articles search-engine optimized.

6. Articles establishes a good impression and reputation!

By writing excellent, original and relevant articles, you not only give your site exposure, you are also creating a good impression on your prospects. Encourage more people to visit your site and do business with you by establishing an impressive reputation through your articles. Be seen as an expert in the field and your will ultimately gain more customers eager to do business with you.

7. Articles will enhance your credibility through references and testimonies!

Certainly, your articles are going to receive feedbacks and testimonies when you publish them in e-zines and free article sites. Record these positive feedbacks and comments and use them as promotional material in your website or in any of your advertising efforts. Your credibility will be greatly enhanced by these feedbacks, as it will create a good impression on your prospects as well as your existing customers. In this highly competitive world, excellent credibility and trust may be the only things you need to attract new customers or make loyal patrons out of your existing customers. Original, relevant, useful and pertinent articles are important tools you should utilize to improve and explode your business.

The only way to survive and make money with your online business is to have traffic. The most important way is with your articles. Do not worry about not writing great articles at first. The more you write the better you will become. Target your key words and submitting to directories will quickly produce the results necessary for you to make money and survive with your online busines

Optimized Article Writing For Best Search Engine Placement

by Wilfred Ball

Many people writing articles for submission to the article directories think that if they write a good 400-700 word article that this will be good enough to get traffic to their websites. This is true to a certain extent. But do you want to really maximize your articles potential and get it listed at the TOP of the search engines?

Now like building a website, You must take into account how to format your article so it gets the maximum benefit for you and your readers. The article directories have somewhat changed to. You were allowed to write a minimum of a 400 hundred word article to get your topic across to the readers you are targeting. That also has changed recently. Many directories will only accept articles of at least 700 words now, so be careful and make sure the article is that length so as to get it approved and published. Avoid having to redo your article to this format will save you more time in the long run.

Here are some key factors in determining the best possible results for your articles and maximizing your article marketing potential:

1. Article writing is like building a website. You want to properly place your target keywords in strategic areas of your article. Search engines software has become very complicated these days. You must be aware of the proper formatting of a great article.

2. Place your target keyword or keyword phrase in the title of your article. This will define what your article is about and then base the rest of it around that theme. But first you should do some research on Google to see what the number of searched were done based around that type of keyword or phrase that you want to target your readers. This can be a very effective strategy in your article writing and help boost your traffic and rankings.

3. You should also use your keyword phrase in the headline of your article. This will also help in getting the search engines to view your article. This alone can get alot of traffic from your target market. As search engines spider your article they will start from the top and to the left. Heres where you should use your keywords, but in a naturally, flowing sentence so it does not sound like a robot wrote it.

4. This is also a must, use the keywords you have carefully chosen within the FIRST paragraph of your article. This is a little tricky here. You need your keyword phrase to sound as natural to the reader as possible. For example: if you are targeting a keyword phrase like "Email Marketing". Do not use the phrase like "We have the best Email Marketing|Bulk Email Marketing software on the planet". It should sound like,"Here we have the best Email Marketing software around. We also carry a great Bulk Email Marketing software group that can serve all your email marketing needs". This sounds alot better than the first setence.

5. One of the most important techniques you must utilize for proper article writing. Placing properly distributed keywords evenly spaced throughout the article body. Googles optimum density is around 1.5% - 2.5%. Do not stuff your keywords into the article. This could get you banned!!! Thats a no-no. You can even bold and italize keywords, but do not do this to ALL keywords. Usually, one keyword bolded and italized will be enough. Search engine spiders will notice this and chances are your article will not get listed if all keywords were bolded and/or italized.

In conclusion: Write your articles as you would build a website. Properly positioned keywords and phrases will give you the best optimization and give you a very compeditive edge over other articles of the same category. This will result in higher search engine placement and will produce alot more traffic for your business. Be sure to write your article in a natually sounding form with the keywords placed in strategic areas within the article as to not alert the spiders. Make sure you describe the benefits of your article to your readers, you must talk "TO" the readers, not "AT" them. With all of these elements in place, you should now have the ultimate article to submit to the article directories. This will give you a greater approval rate and better placement in the search engines.

How Many Times Do I Have To Pay The Internet Marketing Dumb Tax?? Part 1

by Brooke Hayles

Recently, I went to an evening seminar presented by a Google Adwords certified web developer who runs a business not 5 minutess from my home. He was talking about how often newbies to Google Adwords, target the most competitive keywords, end up copping very high Costs-per-click (CPC) and finding themselves in the position where they have "paid the Google Dumb Tax", as this guy rather humorously put it, I thought :-)

(I actually saw a classic - though painful - example of this in a forum recently, titled 'HELP!! I OWE GOOGLE $500 FOR ONE DAY!" He had only made sales worth $68: Youch! Poor guy.... that's one mistake he won't make again!)

In fact I think the "Dumb Tax" concept is not restricted to only Google Adwords! I reckon just about every aspect of internet Marketing (IM) attracts Dumb Tax. Furthermore, I reckon I must have paid my own dues to just about every department of this "IM Dumb Tax Office"! There can't be any other departments can there ??

Anyway, one would think one would be fairly safe with article marketing, which I have had as a major focus of mine for the last many months. But with astounding panache and alacrity, I have managed to find a way to pay the "IM Dumb Tax" even in Article Marketing!

Let me explain...

Recently a company I'm associated with has been building suites of sites for VRE investors. The scope of works we were offering for each site involved TWO original articles on each site, and TWO "re-written" original articles syndicated through the article directories, to secure, hopefully traffic, and certainly link backs to boost PR etc.

Now, there was a total of 180 sites ordered over a couple of month period, and I thought things were going gang-busters!

Being a great believer in the "Ready - Fire - Aim", and "Massive Action" principles, we had secured a few PLR article memberships, and identified a couple of econmical article writing sources, so we forged ahead...

All was going well, till we discovered some rather horrifying quality (or lack thereof) in some of the articles we had commissioned. Clearly many of them were being written by er.. people from a non-English speaking background...

So, no problems, I thought, I'll search around and just find another provider - simple Google search, some negotiation, and we're done... right?

Well, I found one service, who's name I'd better not mention. Looked great, and the guy was based in the Germany,- with used US based writers... YAY! Prices were competitive, but he did mention they were overhauling the website system, but he could happily take my orders.

Well, the initial original articles that came back were prompt, and not too bad - needed a little tweaking, but overall OK for the money. THEN, we came to the rewrites.!! That's when the trouble started. The first 10 or so, had HUGE blocks of exact duplicate content in them from the original - despite a very comprehensive and clear brief on what I wanted.. I'd say 85% ++ was identical - huge slabs of paragraphs copied verbatim. AGGGHHHHHHH!! Long story short, after many backwards and forwards with emails to the owner, communication finally stopped, and we had to pretty well rewrite the articles ourselves.

IM Article Marketing Dumb Tax Lesson #1: You often can't rely on article writing services to deliver as promised in their spiel!!

IM Article Marketing Dumb Tax Lesson #2: You should NEVER pay full price upfront for articles! Fortunately, I actually had learned this second lesson without having to pay the Dumb Tax, amazing though that may seem!, and I had only paid a 50% deposit, so I probably got close to my moneys worth LOL!

Stay tuned for the next article when I discuss what happened when we finally found an article writing and rewrite resource that actually is pretty good, and find out how I had to pay a "Renta-coder IM Dumb Tax" installment !

How To Bend The Rules When Using PLR Articles

by Wyatt Lee

Article marketing was all the rage a couple of years ago, and it still is up till this day, because of one simple reason: content is king on the Internet.

So how do you create your own articles?

There are a number of ways to do it. You can visit the various Internet marketing forums and collect ideas from there. You can gather a few articles together, extract information here and there, and compile them together into a brand new article. Or you can take the easy way out and pay someone else to do it for you.

All of the above methods do have their short-comings. If you are writing your own article, you would need plenty of time to do the research. If you are paying someone to write for you, the end product may not be what you desired.

So is there a better and faster way to create your articles?

Yes, of course. I am sure that you have heard of PLR products. So what exactly are PLR products? They are actually ready made products that come with private label rights. So if you can lay your hands on a PLR product, then you have exclusive ownership of that product. You can then use it anyway as you wish: change the packaging, the title, the contents, you can do just about anything you want with that product.

PLR articles are hot items on the Internet at the moment, with many membership sites offering such articles for a monthly fee. Depending on the owner of the site, you can get up to 30, 50 or even hundreds of PLR articles every month, and each of them has a word count of between 400 to 800 words.

But then again, nothing is perfect, and the same can be said of PLR articles. Although such articles can seem to be very handy, they do have their limitations.

1. Duplicate content

With so many other members using the same PLR articles, it is inevitable that two or more members are going to use the same articles for content on their website, resulting in duplicate content. And this is where the problem starts.

The search engines do not allow duplicate content, so if a PLR article is used as such by two or more owners of the same, all the affected websites will be penalized, and their page rank will suffer as a result.

2. The restrictions of article directories

Users of PLR articles often submit such articles to article directories. Big mistake, because article directories simply do not accept PLR articles, and will ban member accounts if they are caught submitting such articles.

The above are two very unfavorable limitations that restrict the potential of PLR articles. So what can be done to bend the rules?

The solution is actually quite a simple one. All you need to do is just to modify the articles so that they look unique and different from the rest. You already have the private label rights, remember? So you can make whatever modifications to the PLR articles of your choice.

But of course, you don't just alter a few words here and there, thinking that the job is done. Far from it. Below are some of the article modification techniques that you can use to modify your PLR articles in the best possible way.

1. Modify the title, add an introduction and write your own conclusion.

2. Re-write certain paragraphs, and then rearrange the order to make them look unique.

3. Work backwards. This means that you can use the original article's conclusion as the introduction, and then make use of other parts of the article to lead back to your new introduction.

4. As a rule of thumb, you should make at least 30% - 40% of changes from the original article.

So there you have it. All you need to know to bend the rules when you are using PLR articles. Don't make the whole process look difficult, because modifying an article is all a matter of about 10 to 15 minutes. And that is only a small sacrifice, when you consider the fact that it takes you hours of work just to write your very own article.

Article Marketing Tips Guaranteed to Capture a Mass Audience

by Gary Shaw

In the Wide World of the Web, it is quite a struggle for your web site to earn the recognition you strive to get. Sometimes even the simple thing of people being able to find you and get into your web site is a tough thing.

Through articles, you will not only enhance your web site with interesting information. It will also help your site gain content especially on keywords that count. Your article will help your website achieve a proper amount of keyword density. Chances are when users click onto the search engines, a related keyword, your site will come up with a good rank and become visible and accessible.

Instead of coming up with mind boggling flash images and obscure videos on your website that tend to delay the downloading time of your website, why not start writing articles?

Then you can also share these articles to other users by submitting them to submission sites. They will naturally, retain your name and the link to your website you provided upon submissions. How far your article may reach across the Web world, there will always be a link to your site. Users may even get interested in it enough to click on your web site and avail of your products and services.

If we are into internet marketing and strive for our site to gain higher ranking on major search engines, then we must also write articles.

First, articles generate word matches for the search engines to pick up. Second, articles will serve as the bridge that will mentally connect us to the people, internet users, potential customers or clients and web traffic. These people may want to consider your article as a credible source. It will also become beneficial for your web site.

Articles can be fillers, and free advertising opportunities. They can also be keyword rich and attractive contents. You can add buzzwords more often used by your target market. Article marketing is an important aspect of your internet marketing.

If you want your site to become visible and increase its traffic, then it is important to push your contents too. Make sure that these articles will be seen by the right kind of people, your target market.

What can you do to achieve this? Do not just share it in your forums or post them as content for your blogs.

Here are the other more important things you should to your article. They are considered as the immediate article marketing action.

1. Utilize your favorite online network and post your article in there. You may consider it as your online niche.

2. There are popular article submissions sites and top billing Article search engines where you can submit your articles, free of charge.

Customer service should as well be as fantastic so that the customers are provided with the same satisfaction.

One of the ways you can combine marketing and customer service is through opt-in email marketing. With an opt-in list you get the opportunity to introduce your site and products on a good timely basis. Opt-in marketing strategy is a marketing strategy that is virtually low cost and not time consuming. Here, you get the consent of your website visitors to subscribe to your newsletters and other promotional materials such as catalogs and free promotions.

Opt-in email marketing uses your list of subscribers to send e-mail to. These e-mails will contain the materials you will send to your subscribers. It is essential that you present your promotional items in a manner that will catch the interest and the eye of your subscribers to keep them wanting for more. 6 Serious Article Writing Deficiencies, and 6 Ways You Can Fix Them

by John Young

As a writer and editor of The Digital Camera Zone, I spend hours every day scouring the ezine barns for articles to put in front of an information hungry public.

I definitely find a lot of articles, all right. They number in the thousands. Because I need content to feed a voracious audience, I select as many as I can even though I'm often not really happy with many of them.

"Why," I can hear you ask, "do you publish articles that you are not happy with?"

Well, the answer lies in several unfortunate deficiencies in many of the articles published in article barns...

DEFICIENCY NUMBER ONE: INADEQUATE CONTENT

Many articles are glaringly superficial. The author may start with a good premise, say, the need to research out digital cameras before buying one, but then drops the ball.

In essence, the only thing the article says, in 500 - 600 words or so, is "Do your homework".

-- There are no concrete suggestions as to how to do the research.

-- There are no suggested sources where the reader can go to find information.

-- There are no criteria by which the reader can decide which camera is best for her.

In short, the article might not as well have been written. The writer is merely telling the reader what she already knew and provides no real information. Remember: it's not "content that is king¨; it's quality content that is king.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER TWO: OVERDEPENDENCE ON KEYWORD ANALYSIS

Just about every article on writing articles for the web emphasizes that your creation should be "rich" in the keywords your readership is inputting into the search engines.

The trouble comes when you try to include all of the right keywords in your article so that people will find and read it. The danger is that you actually degrade the content of the article and make it less useful.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER THREE: NOT GRABBING THE READER'S ATTENTION AT THE BEGINNING

There's nothing that attracts a reader more quickly to an article than a short story, anecdote or personal experience that identifies her with the subject.

This anecdote or short story should be based on experience, either your own, an acquaintance, or a plausible situation, and should confront the reader with a problem, immerse her in a dilemma, or invoke an emotion that directly leads to the solution posed by the article.

Many article writers start firing facts at the reader and doggedly go on in the same paragraph to advance the solution, without really building up the reader's curiosity or expectations.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER FOUR: NO ORGANIZATION

Many writers, when they decide it's time to pump out their daily (or minute-ly) articles, sit down and write paragraph after paragraph until the word count reaches 850 words or so without any discernible organization to their work.

Then they stop, and fire it off.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER FIVE: NO SUB HEADS OR BULLETS

We load up the article with long paragraphs which exhibit no logical breaks.

The article has no:

-- Subheads. A pithy subhead for each paragraph will pique your reader's interest and lead her into it. If your readers don't encounter at least one subhead after reading a couple of paragraphs, you've probably lost them.

-- Bullets. If you've got several points you want to make in a paragraph, create as many bullets as you need. Don't overdo it of course. Bullets are like salt.

-- Numbers. If you've got sequential steps you want the reader to take, number them. It makes it so much easier to figure out what you're trying to say.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER SIX AND THE FINAL HORROR: GRAMMATICAL AND SPELLING MISTAKES

-- Gramatical Mistakes. Yes, you knew this one was coming --things like "your¨, when you mean "you're¨; "its¨ when you meant "it's¨.

--Spelling Errors. Your reader will assume that if you can't spell, you don't know what you're talking about.

-- Incomplete Sentences. Have a subject, a verb and an object unless you're being fancy, and know you're being fancy.

-- Missing Words. Missing words, for example, "I went New York", are enough to blow any reader away. My question is, "You went what?"

If your article contains any of these stoppers, your readership will never get as far as your Resource Box.

SO WHAT'S THE SOLUTION? GO OUT AND HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WRITER?

No, you are the pro. Here's what you can do to make your articles sizzle:

1) Read professionally written articles on the web until you've absorbed their style.

2) Develop your own voice. Do this by writing and writing.

3) Paste a picture of your hypothetical reader on the computer, and write to that person. What do you need to say to catch and keep their attention?

4) Break it up. Use subheads, bullets, and numbers. Keep pulling the reader ahead with your subheads.

5) Edit.

-- Read and re-read what you've written; cut out unneeded words. Think economy: less is more.

-- Get somebody else to read it -- somebody who neither loves you nor hates you.

-- Sleep on it. Never send out an article the same day you wrote it. Your brain will "cook¨ overnight and you'll think of all kinds of things you needed to say...and change.

-- Read it from the bottom up. This is a good way to catch typos after you've looked at it for too long.

-- Read it out loud.

-- Do a spell check. In this modern age of spell checking word processors, how can anybody submit an article that contains misspelled words?

6) Beware of the spell check. It doesn't catch words used in the wrong context. .

The bottom line is, take more time with your stuff. Write something that will make ezines glow like comets and you'll see your dreams come true.

How To Make Money With Articles

by Adam Beazley

Article syndication is the process of submitting your written articles to different content websites. The purpose of doing this is to gain exposure for yourself and your business. You gain exposure when a webmaster likes your article and publishes it on their website. In doing so the webmaster is giving you free publicity by presenting you as an authority on the subject of your article.

The article will generally get placed on a higher traffic webpage on the site where the visitors can read and learn from it. It is required by the content publishing company that the webmaster leave your 'Author Bio' information attached to the article, which will effectively advertise you and your chosen website. This non-reciprocal link from your published article to your website serves multiple purposes. One it makes your website more popular in the eyes of the Google algorithm and two it drives targeted traffic to your website. The traffic is targeted because the person who just read your article is clicking on your link; this is done generally because he/she is interested in you and/or your business.

If done effectively, article writing and syndication can do wonders for your business. The usefulness of articles doesn't stop at the benefits listed above. If you tailor your article correctly you can have it reach top rankings in Google and create multiple instant sales.

The key to getting your article to the top is by targeting certain keyword phrases. You don't want to target the most used and most popular keyword phrases, instead you want to target less used keyword phrases. What you want to do is look for phrases that only have from 500 - 1500 results in Google.

To start you can research phrases with a handy little tool located here:
inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

This tool will allow you to input a popular keyword phrase and it will give you a list of related keyword phrases. You can use this to find keyword phrases that gets about 500 - 1000 queries per month. After you find a few good keyword phrase candidates, you can go to Google and check the current number of results. To do this you simply type the keyword phrase in "quotes" and Google will return the number of results for that particular phrase. Remember you are looking for anywhere between 500 and 1500 results.

Once you have your targeted keyword phrase, its time to write your new article. Of course your article will be based on the keyword phrase you are targeting and not only that but the title of the article will need to have the keyword phrase in it. Ill say that again, your article title needs to have the keyword phrase that you are targeting in it, preferably word for word.

Many people are lazy and are not going to write articles and that's ok, but those people should definitely invest in a good ghost writing company to write their article for them. I use JustArticles and a special niche club in addition to writing my own articles.

Once you have your article or articles written, now its time to syndicate them to as many content sites as possible. You can do this by hand or with special software, I prefer to use the software (article submitter pro) because I can syndicate to about 700 sites in a few days instead of a few weeks. If you choose to syndicate by hand you can get a huge list of article directories here:
Plug-In-Home-Business.com/freestuff.html

Simply following the instructions above will do wonders for your business, by getting your article published with your website link at the bottom. However, we are going to take this a few steps further to maximize our profit.

The secret is to embed links in your article body which point to products that you are selling. Not just any products will do, you should have products that directly relates to the article subject matter.

You can NOT embed links on every article directory site. You must read each article site's 'submission guidelines' before attempting to put in any live links in the body of your article, otherwise your article will not get approved. Some sites only allow text, some only allow certain types of html code, others allow 3 links in the body and still others do not allow affiliate links at all, so you have to read what you can and can not do. My advice is to submit your article no matter what, whether it has the links in it or not.

The fact is most submission sites state that affiliate links are not allowed however they do allow you to link to your own site which can then redirect them to your affiliate product. If you have a website you need to make some redirect links, if you do not have a website then you can use usfreeads.com and redirect (checkbox) through the classified add that you would setup for each product.

You will need one redirect (name.html) page for each affiliate product that you are selling. Now its time to insert the links into your article using the "a href" tag to embed the link in a word. Be sure to save your article as a simple text file before you begin to code. It is a good idea to have a few different versions of your article on hand for each article directory. I usually save a text version, a light (3 links) html version, a heavy (over 3 links) version and a full html version. This makes your submission time much more efficient, and you won't find yourself coding and writing on each article content site.

When you take these lessons and put them into practice you are not only achieving long term traffic and better Google rankings, but you can potentially make some very quick sales.
